Supporting Healthy Growth Through Traditional Chinese Medicine

Children naturally possess a remarkable capacity for healing and adaptation. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), their Qi is abundant and responsive, allowing gentle treatments to restore balance before minor imbalances develop into more persistent concerns.

Every treatment is carefully tailored to your child’s age, constitution and individual needs. Whether using Shonishin (a gentle, needle-free Japanese paediatric technique), paediatric Tuina massage or age-appropriate acupuncture, sessions are designed to be calm, comfortable and supportive. The goal is not only to relieve symptoms but to strengthen the body’s natural resilience, support healthy development and promote lasting wellbeing.

  • Babies & Infants — A gentle beginning to lifelong health For babies and infants, I use Shonishin, a traditional Japanese paediatric therapy that uses specialised, needle-free instruments to gently stimulate acupuncture channels. This soothing treatment supports the developing nervous, digestive and immune systems and may help with colic, reflux, constipation, unsettled sleep, frequent infections and general irritability. Treatments are calming, painless and typically last only a few minutes.
  • Young Children — Strengthening the body's natural resilience Children often respond exceptionally well to Paediatric Tuina, a specialised Chinese medical massage that gently regulates the flow of Qi through specific meridians. Combined with playful, child-centred care, treatment may support recurrent colds, digestive discomfort, allergies, eczema, asthma, bedwetting, anxiety and emotional regulation while encouraging healthy physical and neurological development.
  • Teenagers — Supporting body, mind and hormonal balance Adolescence is a time of profound physical, emotional and hormonal change. Traditional Chinese Medicine offers a holistic approach that supports the nervous and endocrine systems while addressing the underlying patterns contributing to imbalance. Treatment may help with stress, anxiety, sleep disturbances, ADHD, headaches, menstrual concerns, acne, digestive issues, fatigue and emotional wellbeing, helping teenagers feel more balanced, focused and resilient.
  • Digestive, Immune & Respiratory Health — Building stronger foundations In TCM, healthy digestion is considered the cornerstone of vitality. By supporting the Spleen and Stomach, regulating the immune system and strengthening the body's defensive Qi (Wei Qi), treatment may improve digestive complaints, recurrent infections, allergies, hay fever, asthma, chronic coughs and low energy while promoting overall health and resilience.
  • Growth, Development & Emotional Wellbeing — Nurturing healthy development Traditional Chinese Medicine recognises the close relationship between physical health, emotional wellbeing and healthy development. By gently restoring balance within the body's organ systems, treatment supports concentration, emotional regulation, confidence, restful sleep and healthy growth, helping children navigate life's developmental stages with greater ease and resilience.
